Since Osmund Hansen exhibited in Nørregade in March 1987, much has happened: An exhibition at Skovhuset near Søndersø and at NESA, the publication of a monograph about the artist by the publisher North, and not least the major retrospective exhibition at Fyns Kunstmuseum in November/December 1987, where the museum acquired 5 significant works by the artist. This exhibition was later displayed in February 1988 in the beautiful town hall of Gentofte as the municipality's tribute to the artist on the occasion of his 80th birthday.


In the 1940s and 1950s, Osmund Hansen was a well-known figure in Danish art life — a frequent exhibitor at Charlottenborg, always receiving fine reviews (in 1949, it caused a stir when he was chosen to flank Charlottenborg's guest of honor, Georges Braque...), as a long-standing member of Charlottenborg's censorship committee and board, as the founder of Denmark's first corporate art association at NESA in 1943, and with exhibitions in several galleries, including the almost legendary Galerie Hybler and Pustervig Kunsthandel, as well as with major decorative commissions for, among others, NESA, Wiibroe, and Stigsnæsværket.


When he made a comeback in Danish art life at the beginning of the 1980s, it was with an entirely new and strongly renewed, partly constructive painting style, which has since evolved in an increasingly dynamic direction and has sparked grea
