Stalke Out of Space
Stalke Out of Space was pleased to present Project no. 12: 17.00 CET, an exhibition featuring six of the most radical and experimental artists of the time.
The exhibition included works by Olafur Eliasson, Michael Elmgreen / Henrik Olesen, Joachim Koester, Ann Kristin Lislegaard, Christine Melchior, and Lars Bent Petersen.
The six artists had, in the preceding years, demonstrated a strong will and courage to explore new artistic paths. Their works often demanded active engagement from the viewer and were characterized by a frequently understated and minimalistic aesthetic, grounded in a broad network of references and meanings.
The artists participating in 17.00 CET were all born in the 1970s and shared a common cultural and generational background. This formed the basis for individual interpretations of the surrounding world, in which subjective experience and social or political concerns were often treated on equal terms.
17.00 CET functioned as an attempt to bring together several of these artistic expressions and, for the first time, present them collectively.
