Skønheden

Vesterbrogade 14A

1995

In 1995, Stalke Kunsthandel/Gallery presented Skønheden by Andreas Vind, an exhibition that explored the relationship between art, everyday elements, and notions of beauty. The exhibition brought together a large number of paintings and appeared as a dense and energetic presentation of Vind’s visual universe.

In a review published in Politiken on May 29, 1995, Malene Vest Hansen described the exhibition as a “sparkling image bombardment,” in which art and everyday motifs were blended in ways that challenged traditional distinctions between the refined and the ordinary. The works drew on both classical imagery and more expressive, collage-like strategies, often incorporating references to popular culture and commonplace objects.

The review emphasized how Vind deliberately questioned what constitutes an artwork and how art can be experienced in a contemporary context. Skønheden was thus understood as an exhibition that avoided clear answers and instead invited the viewer into an open, exploratory space between aesthetics, irony, and reflection.
