Vesterbrogade 14A
1999
In 1999, Stalke Galleri presented a major group exhibition bringing together both Danish and international artists around an interest in the displaced, narrative, and formally unresolved aspects of the artwork. The exhibition included works by the international artists Jenny Watson, William Anthony, and Dirk Larsen, alongside the Danish artists Hans S. Holck and Hans Peterson.
For several of the artists, the exhibition marked their first presentation at Stalke Galleri. For both Jenny Watson and William Anthony, participation became the starting point of a long-term exhibition collaboration with the gallery that has continued to the present day.
In addition, the side space featured a dedicated presentation by the Romanian artist Stefan Caltia, who occupied an independent room within the exhibition. Caltia had previously exhibited on several occasions at Galleri Jedig (later Stalke Galleri), including two major solo exhibitions, establishing a longstanding relationship with the gallery prior to this group presentation.
