4.11 to 1.12.2023

Stalke Galleri invited visitors to an exhibition featuring works by Line Toftsø in the front gallery, and by Morten Tillitz, Aske Sigurd Kraul, and Albert Mertz in the back rooms. In addition, a light installation by Olafur Eliasson was exhibited in the Stalke Cube.

Line Toftsø – Red Growth

Line Toftsø presented her main series, Red Growth, consisting of drawings of red plants and flowers. The works explored themes such as femininity and time, using the flower as a symbol of beauty, fragility, and transience. Toftsø’s works were created through the use of pen, hand, and fingers, which together produced red traces. The repeated red growth allowed for exploration and development within each individual work.

Aske Sigurd Kraul

In the exhibition The Realities of Reality by Aske Sigurd Kraul, the understanding of reality was explored. The floor installation consisted of clay spheres arranged in a formation reminiscent of a solar system or the structure of an atom. On the walls, seven paper works were displayed, which upon closer inspection revealed reflective pigment planets where UV light uncovered their structures.
Through the works in the exhibition, a dialogue with physical reality was sought, serving as a point of departure for becoming conscious of experiencing the world. This consciousness was presented as something shared by all, forming the nature of reality and shaping everything in the universe.

Morten Tillitz

Morten Tillitz exhibited a box installation with 23 squares, which related to and engaged in dialogue with the space. They were placed as if they were self-evident conditions for furnishing the room. In addition, he presented painting objects situated between the recognizable and the abstract, with elements integrated in a collage-like form. All titles referred to a novel by Clarice Lispector.
Tillitz reused material from earlier works, and brutality was incorporated as a creative force. Although the works appeared complete, they could later be reduced to obscurity, leaving the material marked by traces of its history.

Albert Mertz and Olafur Eliasson

In addition to the three main artists, works by Albert Mertz from the Stalke Collection and a light work by Olafur Eliasson were displayed.

The exhibition opened on Saturday, November 4, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and ran until December 1. The gallery was also accessible by appointment.
