Selected works from Stalke Galleri and Stalke Collection curated by Sam Jedig

At the exhibition in Taastrup Art Association, works by artists who have exhibited over the past 25 years at Stalke Galleri, as well as works from the gallery’s collection, are on display. These works play a significant role in the Danish and international art scene.

Sam Jedig began operating the gallery from Vesterbrogade in 1982 and has since hosted more than 400 exhibitions. Today, the gallery is located in the charming village of Kirke Sonnerup between Roskilde and Holbæk, functioning as an alternative exhibition space for modern art compared to the more traditional galleries in Copenhagen. The gallery now covers over 300 square meters of exhibition space. As a complement to the gallery's rotating exhibitions, an interesting collection of art from the 1970s to the present day has been established.

From this collection, the Taastrup Art Association has borrowed selected works, many of which have been featured in the art association's exhibitions over the past 24 years. Specifically, the collaboration has resulted in eight exhibitions where Sam Jedig has presented Danish and international art. Over the course of two decades, the association has also kept its members updated with the very latest in contemporary art.

The exhibition highlights how the collaboration between art institutions has developed into a fruitful exchange – between the private gallery and the municipal art association.

Gunnar Örn, Olafur Eliasson (whose work is featured on the cover of the invitation), Thorbjørn Lausten, Torben Ebbesen, Søren Dahlgaard, Hans Peterson, Flemming Brüsgaard, Kristian Hornsleth, Christian Schmidt Rasmussen, Nikolaj Recke, Gudmundur Ingolfsson, Artstamp.dk, Dove Bradshaw, William Anastasi, and William Anthony (who recently exhibited at Art Cologne
