LOVE AND PAINwas an exhibition of paintings by Vu Thi Trang, depicting the situation of women in Vietnam. The works told stories of violence, abuse, poverty, superstition, prostitution, corruption, love, and pain. Trang’s paintings were at once deeply serious and humorous, and all the narratives were based on real life experiences.

LIFE IN THE FAST LANEwas a series of marble sculptures by Jes Brinch focusing on the use of cocaine. The sculptures portrayed a rock star, a designer, a ballet dancer, a journalist, a male stripper, a gallerist, two priests, and a family on cocaine. The series was inspired by the realization of how cocaine use had accelerated and become almost commonplace over the previous ten years. In addition, an entirely new series of paintings was also presented.
