Sam Jedig

Project by stalke Out Of Space# 40

Place:Viborg Kunsthal

This exhibition marked the first major public presentation of the Artstamp.dk project. Presented at Viborg Kunsthal (formerly Brænderigården), the exhibition traced the project’s development from individual stamp editions to their circulation as mail art through envelopes and postal exchange.

The exhibition included Sam Jedig’s own Artstamp productions alongside works by more than 25 invited artists, each contributing a personal interpretation of the postage stamp as an artistic format. By extending the stamp beyond the printed image to include envelopes, correspondence, and systems of distribution, the project emphasized process, exchange, and communication as central artistic strategies.

Artstamp.dk was presented not merely as a collection of objects, but as a collective, process-based field in which ideas circulated through networks of mail and participation. The exhibition thus foregrounded mail art as both medium and method, highlighting the stamp’s dual function as image and vehicle for artistic exchange.

Through this comprehensive presentation, the exhibition established Artstamp.dk as an expanded artistic practice that connected publication, collaboration, and postal circulation within a broader conceptual framework.
