Torben-artstamp

Torben Ebbesen contributes to ARTSTAMP.DK with two stamps created in 2012, perfectly capturing his distinctive visual language and material aesthetic. Featuring close-up, almost grotesque images of a nose and an ear, the stamps are distorted, enlarged, and charged with tactile intensity. They bring the sensory into focus, transforming the body into a graphic and symbolic object.

The stamps carry the same mysterious and material presence that defines Ebbesen’s broader practice—where symbols, mythological references, and layered structures merge in the image surface. Rather than depicting a clear motif, the stamps act as miniature objects: open rebuses where color, form, and rhythm combine into a visual riddle.

Torben Ebbesen has been part of Stalke Galleri since 1988 and his participation in ARTSTAMP.DK is a natural extension of this long-standing collaboration.
