Neil Farber (b. 1975, Winnipeg, Canada) is a Canadian contemporary artist known for his intricate ink and watercolor drawings that blend narrative fantasy, symbolism, and dark humor. A founding member of the acclaimed artist collective The Royal Art Lodge alongside Marcel Dzama, Farber’s work explores themes of innocence, absurdity, and human behavior through a naïve yet psychologically charged visual language.
Farber first exhibited in Denmark at Stalke Galleri in the late 1990s as part of the group exhibition On Paper (1999), curated in collaboration with Richard Heller Gallery, Los Angeles. The show introduced a new generation of international artists who approached drawing as a conceptual and expressive medium.
He later participated in Stalke’s major group exhibition New Paperworks (2003), together with Marcel Dzama, Dame Darcy, and Jacquelyn Tough. With these exhibitions, Stalke Galleri became the first Danish gallery to present both Dzama and Farber to a Danish audience.
Farber’s works are included in major public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (New York), MOCA (Los Angeles), the National Gallery of Canada, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
