Line Toftsø and Erik Steffesen, Stalke Galleri 2023
Line Toftsø (b. Denmark) is a Danish visual artist whose work explores the organic connections between nature, body, and transformation. Her practice revolves around drawing, often using recurring motifs of roots, plants, and branching structures to investigate fragility, vitality, and cyclical growth.
Toftsø presented her solo exhibition Red Growth at Stalke Galleri in 2023, shown in the front gallery. The exhibition featured a series of drawings in red tones depicting organic forms and structures that balance between abstraction and figuration. Red Growth later evolved into an Artstamp edition published by Stalke Out of Space (Artstamp.dk), extending her exploration of natural energy and repetition into a conceptual and collectible format.
In her broader practice, Toftsø’s drawings explore transformation and movement across natural systems, where form, line, and energy flow through recurring organic structures. Her visual language moves between the microscopic and the cosmic — from the growth of a root to the pulse of a star — and her works can be seen as meditations on rhythm, balance, and the fragile interconnectedness of all living matter.
