Joachim Koester

Joachim Koester is a Danish conceptual artist working with photography, film and installation, known for research-driven projects that probe history, memory and altered states of perception.
Koester engaged with Stalke Galleri in the early 1990s: he appeared in the Baghuset context around Stockholm Art Fair (1991), took part in Stalke Out of Space with the program “17:00 CET” at Stalke Out Of Space (1993)—curated by Olafur Eliasson—and later returned for the gallery’s large anniversary exhibition “Stalke 10 Years” (1997/98).
These guest appearances trace a sustained dialogue between Koester’s investigative practice and Stalke’s experimental formats.
