Since 2004, Michael Coughlan has exhibited several times at Stalke Galleri, establishing a lasting connection with the gallery. Based in Los Angeles, he has played an important role in bridging the American and European art scenes, and through his network he introduced several new American artists to the gallery. His practice often balances conceptual rigor with humor and a sense of the absurd, where everyday objects and familiar images are slightly turned on their head to reveal hidden layers of meaning. By shifting the ordinary, Coughlan opens a space where the logical and the illogical coexist, creating new perspectives for both the viewer and the context.
